Casino Road Everett News

Avoid Casino Road is the rumor, lots of crime. I have lived in Lynnwood for the last year and a half and I like it, but it is getting too expensive. Looking to move to Everett for cheaper housing or the east side for ease of commute.

MyEverettNews, Everett, Washington. News, updates and information for and about Everett, WA. Casino Road Soccer Camp. Angel Of The Winds Arena. EVERETT — Casino Road has a reputation. Drugs, prostitution, gangs. It’s an area marked by too much violence and too little hope. Heidi Happonen is part of a group of volunteers that is trying.

The space at 14 E Casino Rd, currently the Children’s Village Conference Center, is slotted to be remodeled into a community hub.

The Casino Road Initiative is working with the Pomegranate Center for this project, and wants to work closely with the community for the project as
well. They’re inviting the public to share and be involved, bearing in mind that “no one knows better than you, the community, what is needed in
a community hub on Casino Road. Attend this meeting and let us know what you want YOUR hub to be like.”

With enough feedback from the meeting, a conceptual design for the space will hopefully come about.

The Casino Road community has the highest poverty rate in the county. The Casino Road Initiative’s website notes that their goal is to end the intergenerational
cycle of poverty in the area.

The meeting will be held Tuesday, April 17th at 6:00 PM at the Horizon Middle School located at 222 W Casino Rd. They’re offering Spanish
translation for speakers, limited childcare (no babies in diapers) and refreshments.

Food insecurity is one of the most prevalent social issues of our time. Our food banks, food pantry, and distribution center all exist to tackle hunger in our community and also serve as touchpoints to connect our neighbors with other basic needs.

We are following all CDC recommendations to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including closing the inside of our Food Banks. Volunteers or staff members will bring food outside for our clients to take home. Due to the current high demand for our services, we are unfortunately unable to offer home deliveries at this time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers, and clients.
